LINEN - WHY IS IT TRENDING?

Did you know that linen is the oldest known clothing material on Earth, circling in and out of fashion trends for at least 5000 years.  It’s no secret that linen is having a moment, once again securing it’s spot as ‘top material’ on the textile throne. With more consumers demanding brands to improve their ethics and sustainability now more than ever, it’s no surprise that linen clothing and sustainable fashion is increasingly being used and worn by brands and consumers alike.

Made from flax plants, linen is a strong, durable and biodegradable material that is more sustainable than most other common fabrics such as cotton. Although the process of creating linen is more strenuous than other materials, less water is required to grow flax plants than cotton, less pesticides are used and there is far less production waste, making organic linen the sustainable material seen in many eco-warriors wardrobes. This trendy, lightweight material is perfect for the warmer seasons, or for layering in winter (if you live in a place like Australia where ‘winter’ is mild).

If you are looking for some timeless linen pieces to add to your wardrobe, then look no further! Here at Apéro, we love designing with linen and creating high quality, classic silhouettes to wear for years to come.

LINEN BLAZER

There is nothing like an oversized linen blazer to make you feel stylish and chic, everywhere you go. If you are like us, you want to be wearing linen not just in summer but all year round. Luckily we have designed a variety of linen blazers to fulfill your linen needs during the winter time too! Our Freedom Linen Blazer is available in forest green, french rose, and black and white gingham. Each blazer can be styled in a variety of ways, such as with jeans and boots, skirt and heels, or with the matching trouser to complete the suit!
